The Banner Project
This project is about incorporating Cultural identity through art. We will have over twenty long 3.5m banners that will hang along the Olympic torch route on 20th June & at Culture Bazaar on 8th July at Richard Rose Central Academy, Victoria Place, Carlisle.
Several Schools in Carlisle area are designing and painting these cultural banners influenced by different countries around the world and its culture. Sport brings people together from diverse nationalities & we wanted to grasp the opportunity to share the sporting & cultural ties.
The schools include primary & secondary. Carlisle Youth Zone has teenagers with artistic temperament & Women Wellbeing Group (WOW) which comprise of women from different ethnic backgrounds, who also want to put their stamp on canvas. Banners will be completed by 6th June and will be a tantalisingly vibrant display of colour, community & culture.
These Banners will be displayed along the Olympic Torch Route on 20th June & displayed at Culture Bazaar 2012 on Sunday 8th July at Richard Rose Central Academy,
